Summer is wonderful time to spend in Lake Tahoe. There is an enormous array of activities to choose from: boating, sightseeing, horseback riding, fishing. We have a wide range of hiking and biking trails for all levels to enjoy. And many people most enjoy a lazy day at one of Lake Tahoe's many spectacular beaches.
On the California side, visitors can enjoy Baldwin, Kiva, and Pope Beaches, all run by the USDA Forest Service. There's also Emerald Bay and Fallen Leaf Lake. Camp Richardson has outdoor dining, jetski and boat rentals. In the City of South Lake Tahoe, there's Cove East, a bird sanctuary that leads to the lake. Reagan Beach offers the most civilized area with a lawn, beach volleyball court and playground. El Dorado Beach provides a boat launch plus camping and picnic facilities. On the Nevada side, there's Nevada Beach with a campground. Round Hill Pines Beach is privately owned but provides boat, kayak and jetski rentals, a snack bar, a pool and outdoor party facilities. So wherever you are in South Lake Tahoe, you have easy access to a place in the sand and sun.
