Whether you come for winter sports or for summer by the lake, Tahoe also has a wide variety of year-round events. We love seeing visitors from all over the world attending art shows, friendly sports competitions, listening to their favorite music genre, tasting something new at Food and Wine or enjoying the film festivals.

TahoeSouth.com is the site to watch for upcoming events. Enjoy the fact that you are out of the city and utilize BlueGo which is a local bus service. They do the driving and you can ride for a nominal fee or even FREE at certain times of the year. Your time in Lake Tahoe will be much more enjoyable when even you don’t have to be the driver.

Below are a few highlighted events to get you going.

The 26th Annual America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride will be held on Sunday, June 4.  Sponsored by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to benefit research and development to fight blood cancer,  the bike ride offers the 72 mile shoreline ride around Lake Tahoe, or a 100 mile century ride.

More than 3000 bicycling enthusiasts from around the country area expected to participate.  The ride is not a race but a way to promote the Lake Tahoe Bikeway project.  In addition to beautiful scenery and fresh mountain air, volunteers from local organizations will be on hand with food and beverage at various stops around the ride.

Harvey’s Summer Concert Series has always been a big plus to spending summers in Lake Tahoe.  Normally, it’s a nice mix of entertainers with a wide appeal to a variety of generations.  This year is not any different.  Paul Simon  starts off the series on June 25, followed by Rebelution, Sammy Hagar (no offense but Sammy Hagar is always here.  How can one miss him?), Train,  Third Eye Blind, Slightly Stoopid and more.  For more information, visit https://www.caesars.com/harveys-tahoe/shows

Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival – July 8 – August 27, 2017

This is a must to go to at some point.  It’s not just about Shakespeare, although that is highly entertaining.  It’s about sitting on the shores of Lake Tahoe at sunset with a great group of people, surrounded by fabulous food and good times.  This is not to be missed.
